Dear additive manufacturing enthusiasts,
The third Workshop for Additive Manufacturing (WAM2024) will be taking place in Grenoble on the 23rd and 24th April 2024. This two-day event will cover the latest advances in the use of X-rays and neutrons at large-scale facilities for the additive manufacturing sector. It is particularly aimed at industrial applications within the aerospace, automotive, medical implant, energy, ceramics and metallurgy industries.
The event will feature experts in the field and will bring together delegates from research and industry to share knowledge, build networks and encourage discussions. The themes covered will include imaging, phase and internal stress characterization, in-situ/in-operando measurements and modelling. The challenges associated with standardization and simulation will also be addressed.
Places are limited and will be assigned on a first-come, first served basis via the WAM2024 website. As part of the workshop, participants will get the opportunity to visit the ILL and ESRF to learn more about their advanced characterisation facilities. Those wishing to participate in the ILL visit on the 23rd should register as soon as possible to allow time for site access approval.
WAM2024 is being held in conjunction with the ILL-ESRF Residual Stress School. This will take place directly after WAM2024, on the 25-26th April. The Residual Stress School will introduce participants to the different methods of neutron and synchrotron strain/stress characterization, including covering all the latest techniques.
Registration for both the workshop and the Residual Stress school are open until the 29th March 2024 at https://workshops.ill.fr/e/WAM2024
We look forward to seeing you all there.
The WAM2024 organising committee
